Bridge over the Flood – a revival of the Keynsham Flood commemoration musical with singers, musicians and a spectacular display. Throughout July – Compton Dando
The village of Compton Dando will commemorate the Great Flood with a small exhibition at St Mary’s Church, which will be open to visitors every day. On Sundays 2-5pm, tea and homemade cakes will also be served.

Pensford Tea Party – Church Room , Churchyard with music in and around the Tower – and a few surprises! Remembrance Service on old Bridge with guests who were part of the Rescue & Assistance to the Community. Also launch of new Heritage Trails from the village Memorial hall with exhibitions, photos, film and more…..

Sun 8 July, 9.45 a.m. for a 10.00 a.m. start – Commemoration Walk
Walkers Are Welcome Walk to commemorate the 1968 flood. Will follow the River Chew through Chewton Keynsham to Compton Dando and back (approximately 5 miles) with a break at the Compton Inn for refreshments. Along the way, we will meet people that were affected and can recall events from the flood.

18 July, 1.00-2.30 pm – ‘I Was There’
Come and hear personal memories of local people alongside a photographic exhibition of the aftermath of the flood in Keynsham.
