Bristol Airport: Community Notification

3rd to 4th June: Champions League Final

The UEFA Champions League Final- one of the world’s biggest sporting events- is taking place on Saturday 3 June at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

UEFA follows a ‘two airport strategy’ when making travel arrangements, with the aim of keeping the two sets of travelling supporters apart where possible. Alongside Cardiff Airport, Bristol will be the designated port of entry for followers of one of the finalists.

During the weekend of the match, and in the days leading up to it, we expect to welcome several thousands of supporters en route to the match. Some may be travelling on scheduled services, but the majority will arrive on specially chartered flights. As such, local communities will notice an increase in flights over these days compared to our usual schedule.

All passengers on these flights will be transferred to the Stadium by coach as part of their club travel package arrangements.

At peak times over the weekend it is possible that a traffic flow management plan may be implemented in and around the Airport in order to ensure the safe transfer of passengers from the terminal to waiting coaches. Police will be present at all times in order to coordinate traffic management in order to keep disruption to a minimum for local residents and other road users.

All coaches will be parked on site at the Airport with no impact to the local road laybys or waiting areas.

Rest assured we will be doing all we can to keep any disruption to a minimum.

17th to 18th June: Weston Air Festival

Over the weekend of the 17th and 18th June the Weston Air Festival will be taking place. During the weekend a number of historic and unusual aircraft will be operating in the area.

We have had advanced notice that the RAF Typhoon Display Team will be based at Bristol Airport and as usual we will communicate the times for their arrival and departure once they are confirmed nearer to the date.

Please note that there will be no display at Bristol Airport. The best view of the aircraft will be at the air shows where they are performing.
